Our race will start sometime on Monday morning March 24th and hopefully end sometime on Thursday the 27th. We will report after the race ends. Wish us luck! |

Team FTM Starts the Season with a 1st at Vail Lake |
Tuesday, 26 February 2008 |
The season got under way with a top notch effort from team Feed The Machine. All cylinders were firing as they tore up the course and showed everyone why they are a force to be reckoned with in the 2008 Adventure Racing season. With Evan in his Roclite 285s and Sylvie, Christian and Cyril in their 345GTXs, Team Feed The Machine tore up the 8 hour Desert Rage Temecula Adventure Racing course in Vail Lake. A new twist to the AR format, teams complete in three rogaine formatted stages racing to a timed finish. The lowest overall time to complete the course or as much of it as possible would declare the winner. FTM finished a close second in the Bike section, a second in the Kayak section, then blistered the course on the Trail Run section besting the next closest by several minutes to take the overall course by 11 minutes over the 2nd place team. We like to think the Trail Run success was due to Inov-8 shoes, but I'm hoping that the long hours training in the mountains over the last several months had a little to do with it. Either way, it was a great start to the 2008 racing season.

Team FTM Takes 4th at XPD Portugal |
Saturday, 15 December 2007 |
Team FTM takes on a stacked International crowd at XPD Portugal and earns a hard fought 4th Place! Early navigation mistakes quickly dropped the gang to the back of the pack. Patience and persistence paid off as they slowly locked onto the course and steadily picked off checkpoint after checkpoint gradually gaining speed. Near the race end, the team was trucking at full speed and crossed the finish line with little left in the tank. The gang crossed the finish line on the beach and, due to the format, only found out their fate a few hours later at the post race dinner (of which they were late for). Read on for more about the race... |

Evan takes 1st Overall at Bonelli! |
Thursday, 18 October 2007 |
Our very own Evan Hyde showed every other person at the Renegade Racing Sprint Adventure Race at Bonelli Park in San Dimas, CA just what big time speed and perfect route choice looks like. He bested the entire field of 80 teams and 50 solos to finish 1st Overall! He wore the Team FTM jersey proud and it paid off. We like to think the jersey had something to do with it, but it was probably Evan's hard work that did it. It looks like Evan's ankle has healed nicely since the AR World Champs in Scotland. He is primed and ready for XPD Portugal in December where Team FTM will have its fastest and most experienced team ever. |

This race took an unexpected entry into our race calendar. Silvie Maracci, a regular training partner to the team, asked if we could put together a team for the race. Not being able to say no to a great opportunity to see some beautiful and one of a kind territory, we launched our campaign to find some great talent to fill out the team and get to the race. The race did not disappoint...spectacular views, awesome terrain, wild weather and stiff competition. Our goal of a top 5 was washed away with the weather, but a respectable 8th place was well earned in the end. Next year... |
